Out-patient and in-patient care provided at the Institute is performed in agreement with the National Health Service. Standard admission for oncological conditions may occur at the suggestion of the general practitioner, of the hospital specialist or of another trusted physician. For specialist consultations it is sufficient to book, by telephone or in person, the medical service and to attend the scheduled appointment with the attending physician's referral.

National Health Service out-patient care
Appointments are booked on the request of the family doctor and of Public Health Service specialists on regional healthcare prescription pad (“external” referrals).
Out-patient services subject to booking
Bookings relating to the CAS (Welcome Centre Services), Medical Oncology, Oncological Surgery, Skin Tumour Surgery, Antalgic Therapy, Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy, Pneumology and Bronchoscopy, Cardiology, Nutrition, Gynecology, Psychology, Otorhinolaryngology, Odonto-stomatology, Plastic Surgery, Surgical Radiology must be made at the Common Booking Centre on the 1st floor:
in person (from Monday to Friday, from 8.00 to 17.00); by telephone on 011.9933777 (from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 16.30).
Direct access out-patient services
The patient, in possession of a referral, may access services without the need to book:
Sample Collection Centre – situated on the ground floor: the patient may enter from 8.00 to 10.00, from Monday to Friday;
in person (from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 to 17.00); by telephone on 011.9933774 (from Monday to Friday, from 14.00 to 16.00).
Specialist out-patient Radiotherapy bookings must be made at the Common Booking Centre on the ground floor:
Out-patient specialist bookings relating to Radio diagnostics and Nuclear Medicine must be made at the Common Booking Centre in the Great Technologies section (ground floor):

Out-patient services for private patients
Bookings may be made at the dedicated desk in the Common Booking Centre of the centre on the 1st Floor:

- Admission to the ward
On the day of admission the patient should register, for admission procedures, at the reception desk in the specific department, bringing with them:
Identity document (or photocopy thereof):
Health Service Card(or photocopy thereof);
Name and telephone number of attending physician;
All clinical documentation (including diagnostic and radiology tests);
Medicines routinely taken;
Spare underwear/nightwear and items necessary for personal hygiene.
- Visiting hours and arrangements
Relatives and acquaintances of hospitalized patients admitted may enter the wards throughout the day; in order not to disturb patients' rest, only one visitor at a time is permitted for each patient. Visitors are requested not bring foodstuffs, drinks or medications to the patients which might interfere with diagnostic or therapeutic treatments in progress.
For all queries in this regard it is possible to consult the healthcare staff on the ward (doctors and nursing staff).
Children under the age of 12 years may not enter the wards, except in particular situations and with the prior authorization of the nursing staff.- Rules of conduct
For reasons of hygiene and healthcare, plants and flowers are not permitted in the patients' rooms. The patient must make sure to keep his personal locker in his room closed, in particular when he is absent therefrom. It is, however, not recommended that jewels, valuable items or large sums of money be kept in patients' rooms. The Institute's management declines responsibility for any incidents of theft. In the Institute smoking is not permitted (L. 3 of 16/1/2003).
The use of mobile phones is permitted provided that consideration is paid to other in-patients; patients and their caregivers are invited to use these only during the daytime, keeping the volume of the ringtone down and muting it when hospital services are being provided.
Likewise, computers and audiovisual devices must be used with respect for other patients and for ward activities.- "La Madonnina" residence in Candiolo
The parish of the Municipality of Candiolo has built a residence reserved for relatives and helpers of patients who live far from Institute, as well as for patients who access Day Hospital treatments and who have difficulty in getting about and/or limited financial resources to cover hotel stays. “The Madonnina” offers 27 twin bedrooms, with the possibility to use a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, ironing facilities, TV room, library. The Istituto di Candiolo has a discount agreement with the Best Quality Hotel which is 1.5 Km away, Tel. 0119622380. The MeBUs service connects the Institute with the Hotel.
